Restoring the Temple of Your Body: Christian Expressive Arts to Facilitate Healing Body Image & Relationship with Food
Discover the healing power of prayer and creativity.
Restoring the Temple of Your Body invites you to meet God within the temple of your own heart where He dwells and allow Him to restore your relationship with your body and with food.
This guide to using therapeutic skills, journaling, and creativity in the healing of disordered relationships with bodies and food is the fruit of my own healing journey. Throughout this guide, you will find lots of opportunities to reflect, journal, and pray but the heart of this guide are the 15 Christian Expressive Arts activities I have created for your healing journey.
Along with the guided art activities, I have also included helpful therapeutic skills. As we work on the healing of our body image and relationship with food, we need tools to aid us in changing our patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior.
The skills I have shared in this workbook are from the Hope’s Garden CHRIST Program. The CHRIST Program integrates the skills I learned in a treatment program for eating disorders with the teachings of our Catholic Faith.
