What is Christian Expressive Arts?
By combining prayer and the gift of creativity, Christian Expressive Arts facilitates spiritual and emotional healing, personal growth, and interior peace. Christian Expressive Arts coaching is spiritual direction in color! Together, we invite Jesus to enter into our hearts and our imaginations and to dialogue with us through His gift of creativity. You will be amazed at how He answers our prayer and makes His presence visible in color and images. No artistic talent or experience is needed. Just openness to the Holy Spirit!
Rather than focusing on artistic talent or a finished product, Christian Expressive Arts is about process and presence. It’s a prayerful space where God meets you in your creativity and speaks to the inner places of your heart—especially those wounded by trauma, grief, or shame. The focus is on becoming aware of the Lord’s movements within your heart and life and expressing your dialogue with Him in color and image. The goal is a deeper, more authentic relationship with Jesus, not expert artworks.
About Me
I have been drawn to art, poetry, and creative expression since I was a child. My grandmother was an artist and I have very dear memories of spending time with her learning to draw and paint. Years later, when I was suffering from depression, anxiety and complex PTSD, I discovered the healing power of art and creativity. Therapeutic art helped me reclaim my voice and express my painful emotions and traumatic memories. I, like Georgia O’Keefe, found that I could say things with color and shapes that I could not say with words. As the Lord continues to heal my heart and love me into the woman He created me to be, I continue to find joy in experimenting with artistic mediums. I long to create reflections of His beauty and to share the healing power of creativity with others.
